Does it matter what year I took the courses for it to be counted towards completion of the certificate requirements?

Only courses taken on or after January 1, 2017 can count towards completion of the certificate requirements.

Why is the eligibility date January 1, 2017?

There have been a number of system enhancements / new programs / new reports in the last eighteen (18) months. The HRIS team has revised, expanded and added new content / courses to meet changing business needs. After careful review, it was determined that January 1, 2017 would be the most appropriate eligibility date.

How can I check my HRIS Training Record?

You can check your Training Record on the ODLC website to confirm what courses you have completed and when.

I attended a course but it was not marked on my ODLC Training Record. Why?

If an attendee has missed more than thirty (30) minutes of the class (before the start of the class or leaves before the end of the class), the instructor will not mark the attendee as having completed the course.

What if I attended the course but forgot to sign in?

The Instructor checks the attendance sheets to validate requests for certificates. You will need to retake the course again if you did not sign the attendance sheet.

How much time do I have to complete all courses?

You have two years from the start date of your first course to complete all the courses required for the certificate.

Is there an assessment at the end of the courses?

Participants must complete an assessment at the end of each course.

Does the certificate expire?

The certificate does not expire, but certified users are required to complete training offered on system enhancements / new programs / new reports to maintain certification.

How do I request my Certificate once I completed all the courses?

You must request your certificate by submitting an HRIS Certificate Request Form. Once your eligibility is confirmed, the certificate will be issued on the first of the month and mailed to your department via Campus Mail.

What about HRIS workshops / information sessions outside of the Standard Curricula?

The HRIS Team periodically runs additional workshops for implementation of salary increases and information sessions when there are system enhancements. Attend all applicable workshops / sessions as it relates to the work you perform.

Note: the certificate will not list any additional classes taken outside of the Standard Curricula or new courses added to the Curricula.

Is the Certificate valid outside of U of T?

The Standard Curriculum has been developed specifically for HRIS users at U of T and is valid at U of T only.
